The format

Three things, briefly

  1. Two-man scramble

    Both players tee off, you pick the better drive, and you both play from there. Each player’s drive has to be used at least four times.

  2. Net scoring

    Handicaps are applied, so it comes down to how your team plays that morning rather than who brought the lowest index. Lowest net wins.

  3. Shotgun start

    All 36 teams tee off at once from their own hole. Everybody starts together and everybody finishes together.

Green and cart fees are separate
$65 per player, paid directly to Mesquite Golf Club on the morning of the event. Bring a card. Your entry fee does not cover green fees.
Both players need a handicap (or last 3 scores)
An official GHIN index, an average 18-hole score, or your last 3 round scores using our built-in calculator. Individual handicaps are capped at 20 strokes.
6:00 AM arrival for range time
Check-in and range time open at 6:00 AM so you can warm up before the 7:00 AM shotgun start. Post-round lunch and awards follow play.

What does my entry actually cover?

The cash purse ($1,000 / $500 / $200), post-round lunch (Pancho's Mexican Buffet), two drink tickets per player, side competitions (closest to pin & longest drive), photography & video, and the Heckle Hole. Green & cart fees ($65/player) are paid directly to Mesquite Golf Club at check-in.

I don't have an official GHIN handicap. Can I still play?

Yes! You can enter your average 18-hole score or use our built-in calculator on the registration page to submit your last 3 round scores. We convert it to a tournament handicap (capped at a max of 20).

Do we get to pick our partner?

You register as a team of two, and stay together as registered.

How are team handicaps calculated?

Using the USGA's recommended two-person scramble allowance: 35% of the lower-handicap player + 15% of the higher-handicap player (rounded to the nearest whole number), with individual handicaps capped at 20.

What happens if the weather turns?

Late November in Dallas usually means cold at the shotgun and pleasant by noon; dress in layers. If the course calls a delay or a cancellation we'll email and text everyone on the roster immediately.

How do I score on the day?

Your team gets a six-character code at check-in (and in your confirmation email). Open the scoring page on a phone, enter it once, and record your score hole by hole.
